Stuck In and Out

The series, "Stuck In and Out" was started during the pandemic. The pandemic greatly impacted my lifestyle in that I began to incorporate abstract expression into my work. As the pandemic went on longer than expected, I focused more on the inside of my house as my subject matter. “Stuck In and Out” is a paper collage involving painting colors over paper. The horizontal paper strips in my collages were inspired by what I visually experienced with my window blinds, which restricted my view of the scenery outside. “Stuck In and Out” expresses metaphorically the increased constraints in my life during such an unpleasant period.
